Japanese electronics manufacturer, Toshiba, projecting losses reached 4.5 billion US dollars this year, along with the discovery of cases of accounting scandals.

As quoted by CNN Money, Tuesday (12/22/2015), the loss is greater than expected by analysts, and up to six times higher than the losses recorded in the first half of this year amounted to 90.5 billion yen or 734 million US dollars.

The biggest losses arise from restructuring costs. Another thing that also contributed to the company's loss was the poor performance of the energy division and electronics, as well as the amount of tax to be paid.

Toshiba states would cut about 6,800 employees who are in the consumer electronics division at the end of March and lay off 1,000 employees working at the headquarters.

Another step taken is shut audiovisual business in various countries but in Japan as well as focus on the licensing of existing brands abroad.

In trading yesterday, Monday (21/12/2015) Toshiba shares fell by 10 percent as a form of investor anticipation of the reorganization plan of the company.

Toshiba is currently struggling to restore confidence, the post-scandal penggelembungkan accounting in the form of corporate profits.

The company's shares have dropped by 50 percent so far this year and forcing Toshiba CEO Hisao Tanaka resigned in July.
